I divide my time into phases -
of exploration - navigating a subway system, lingering by a riverbank -
and of close work - carving wood at the kitchen table, typing commands into a digital model.
I cultivate an appreciation of my surroundings just as I practice my capabilities of research, visual and empathic thinking.
In each of my works, I seek a point of balance within the relations of time, place and discourse that influence its creation, never certain and always open to what I might find there.
